Champagne Roses de Jeanne is the artisanal winery created by Cédric Bouchard in 2000, located in Celles-sur-Ource in the Côte des Bar, the southern part of Champagne. Born into a family of winegrowers, Cédric inherited a small vineyard called Les Ursules from his father and set out with a revolutionary philosophy: to produce Champagnes expressing the purest character of each terroir without blending or compromise.
Bouchard’s wines embody the mantra of “one plot, one grape variety, one vintage.” Each cuvée is crafted from a single parcel, using 100% Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, or Pinot Blanc, and reflects the unique personality of its origin. Vineyards cover just about 3 hectares, farmed organically with a focus on low yields and meticulous care to maximize concentration and precision.
Winemaking is deliberately minimal intervention. Grapes are hand-harvested and rigorously sorted, with only the juice from the first gentle pressing used. Fermentation occurs naturally with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, Bouchard avoids oak to keep purity intact. Malolactic fermentation proceeds spontaneously; there is no chaptalization, no fining, filtration, or dosage added to the wines. Bottling uses reduced pressure for the second fermentation, resulting in fine, delicate bubbles that enhance the wines’ elegance and minerality.
Production is very limited, typically ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand bottles annually depending on cuvée. Stardom in the Champagne world comes from the wine’s striking finesse, aromatic tension, and terroir-driven identity. Roses de Jeanne stands as a benchmark for natural, authentic Champagne, offering extraordinary depth and personality from a modest vineyard estate.
Visitors and collectors cherish Roses de Jeanne for its uncompromising purity, singular style, and the passionate vision of Cédric Bouchard, who continues to redefine excellence in grower Champagne.
