Champagne Olivier Marteaux is a family estate rooted in the Marne Valley, with a history dating back to the 1950s when Olivier’s grandfather began as a vine nurseryman and winegrower. Today, Olivier Marteaux leads the domaine, crafting expressive Champagnes as a Recoltant Manipulant.
The estate’s 8 hectares of vineyards are spread across about forty plots on the sunny slopes of the right bank of the Marne Valley, including Azy sur Marne, Bonneil, Essômes sur Marne, Romeny sur Marne, and Charly sur Marne. The vineyards are planted with a focus on the traditional Champagne varieties, predominantly Meunier (65%), alongside Chardonnay (20%), Pinot Noir (13%), and a touch of the rare Petit Meslier (2%). The vines thrive on limestone, sand, and clay soils, contributing to the typicity and quality of the wines.
Olivier Marteaux is committed to sustainable viticulture, holding High Environmental Value certification. The estate prioritizes biodiversity, uses grassed strips to prevent erosion, and opts for natural fertilization and minimal intervention in disease protection. Grapes are hand-harvested and rigorously sorted before vinification in stainless steel vats. The Champagnes are aged extensively in the cellars before release.
