Champagne Lacroix-Triaulaire is a family estate whose story began in 1917, when two men from the Aube region, a farmer and a hardware merchant, met during the war and forged a lasting friendship. A decade later, their children, Lucienne Cosson and Jacques Lacroix, united to establish a new lineage. Historically rooted in livestock and cereal farming, Jacques and his brother Jean sought to perpetuate their ancestors’ passion for the land by acquiring a farm and, in the late 1950s, taking advantage of large-scale land clearing projects promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture. At its peak, the family managed over 250 hectares and raised up to 700 sheep.

The family’s winemaking journey truly began with François, born in 1951, who studied agriculture and soon applied his knowledge at a renowned Champagne house. There, he gained valuable experience in viticulture and winemaking, eventually becoming a team leader and broker. Today, Marie-Claire and Théodore continue the family’s legacy, cultivating the vineyard with a deep respect for nature and tradition.

The estate’s vineyard is planted with 55% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier, 9.5% Chardonnay, and 0.5% Pinot Blanc. Young and old vines are equally represented, ensuring balanced and high-quality wines. Marie-Claire and Théodore are committed to natural practices: no herbicides or insecticides are used, and the terroir is managed according to organic principles. Pruning begins only after Saint Vincent’s Day, and vine cuttings are incorporated back into the soil to preserve its mineral richness. Harvesting is a highlight of the year, reflecting the family’s connection to the land.

Vinification is carried out with precision and care. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks or barrels, and malolactic fermentation is systematic, ensuring wines of great suppleness and expression. Each cuvée is crafted to showcase the unique character of the terroir and the family’s savoir-faire.

Champagne Lacroix-Triaulaire is also recognized for its ongoing commitment to sustainable viticulture and innovation. The estate regularly participates in trade shows and events, expanding its presence on international markets and sharing its passion for authentic Champagne.
