Champagne Jacquinet-Dumez is an independent family estate rooted in the Premier Cru village of Les Mesneux, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. The family’s story began in 1935 in Sacy, where Henri Dumez planted Pinot Noir and crafted his first cuvées, delivering bottles to Paris himself. Over the decades, the estate has grown and evolved, always guided by a spirit of independence, innovation, and a deep love for the land.
In 1964, Claudine (Henri’s daughter) and Jean Guy Jacquinet settled in Les Mesneux, expanding the vineyards and beginning their journey as cooperators. Their son Olivier, born in 1961, joined the estate in 1984, reviving his grandfather’s press and producing the family’s first bottled Champagne. Olivier’s wife Aline became a key pillar of the house, bringing her sensitivity and passion for people into every interaction. Today, the fourth generation is represented by Diane, a qualified oenologist who brings fresh energy and expertise to the estate.
The Jacquinet-Dumez vineyards span several Premier Cru terroirs: Les Mesneux, Sacy, Villedommange, and Ecueil, with vines averaging 40 years old. The soils are clay limestone and sandy loam, providing the ideal conditions for expressive, elegant Champagnes. The estate is certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) and has not used chemical fertilizers or herbicides for over a decade. Instead, they practice natural grassing and mechanical work under the vines, preserving old vines and promoting biodiversity.
In the cellar, the Jacquinet-Dumez philosophy is one of minimal intervention and maximum expression. Wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks, oak barrels, and sandstone jars, with aging on lees for at least six months and a minimum of 15 months in bottle. The disgorgement liqueur is homemade, using reserve wines and organic cane sugar. The result is a range of modern, precise, and gourmet Champagnes, each with its own personality and a signature freshness.
