Domaine Pommier is a family estate based in Poinchy, just outside Chablis, Burgundy. Founded in 1990 by Isabelle and Denis Pommier with only two hectares of family vines, the domaine has grown to cultivate 23 hectares, including prestigious sites in Petit Chablis, Chablis, and three Premier Crus: Fourchaume, Côte de Léchet, and Troesmes. The estate is recognized as a pioneer in organic viticulture in Chablis, achieving full organic certification in 2014, well ahead of most in the region.

The Pommiers’ philosophy is rooted in respect for the land and minimal intervention. All vineyard work is carried out with a focus on biodiversity and soil health, including hand-harvesting for Premier Crus and select old-vine parcels, an uncommon practice in Chablis. The soils, rich in Kimmeridgian limestone with ancient marine fossils, impart a signature minerality and freshness to the wines.

In the cellar, fermentations are conducted with indigenous yeasts. Chablis and Petit Chablis are vinified in stainless steel to preserve purity and vibrancy, while Premier Crus and select cuvées undergo mixed aging in used oak barrels and tanks for added complexity and balance. The domaine’s range includes expressive, mineral-driven whites and a small production of Bourgogne Pinot Noir.

Domaine Pommier’s commitment to quality and authenticity has earned numerous accolades, including top scores from international critics and medals at major wine competitions. The estate stands as a benchmark for organic Chablis, producing wines that are generous, precise, and true to their unique terroir.
