Champagne Fernand Thill is a family estate with roots stretching back to the early 19th century, when Jean Adam Thill left Luxembourg for France. His son Dominique settled in Verzy, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, and laid the foundation for the family’s winegrowing tradition. In 1953, Fernand Thill began marketing wines under his own name, marking the official birth of the brand. Today, the estate is led by Thomas Grojean, who continues the family’s legacy of passion and expertise.
The domaine’s 7 hectares of vineyards are located in the prestigious Grand Cru villages of Verzy and Verzenay, renowned for their exceptional terroir. The estate cultivates the three classic Champagne grape varieties, Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay, each contributing to the complexity and finesse of the wines.
Champagne Fernand Thill is committed to quality at every step. The wines are aged on lees for an average of 4 to 5 years, allowing them to develop depth and character. All cuvées undergo malolactic fermentation, and the dosage is carefully adjusted for each wine, typically between 6 and 8 g/l.
All wines are classified Grand Cru, reflecting the exceptional quality of the terroir. The estate produces about 28,000 bottles per year, each a testament to the family’s dedication and savoir faire.
With a history of innovation and a deep respect for tradition, Champagne Fernand Thill offers Champagnes of elegance, complexity, and true Grand Cru character.
