Domaine Dominique et Janine Crochet is a family-run estate in the heart of Sancerre, located in the renowned wine village of Bué. With several generations of winemaking heritage, the domaine cultivates 13 hectares of vineyards, including 9.5 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc for Sancerre blanc and 3.5 hectares of Pinot Noir for Sancerre rouge and rosé. The family’s philosophy centers on sustainable, “lutte raisonnée” viticulture, minimizing chemical inputs to respect the health of the vines and soils. They are currently transitioning to organic farming, further reinforcing their commitment to environmental stewardship.

The estate’s vineyards are planted on a mosaic of classic Sancerre soils, limestone (calcaire), clay (argile), and flint (silex), each imparting unique character to the wines. To highlight this diversity, Domaine Crochet produces several cuvées from renowned lieux-dits in Bué. Their Sancerre blanc expresses the freshness and minerality of Sauvignon Blanc, while single-parcel wines like “Le Grand Chemarin” and “Le Chêne Marchand” showcase the nuances of limestone terroir. The rosé, made from Pinot Noir grown on flint soils, is vibrant and aromatic, while the Sancerre rouge and special cuvées like “Cuvée Prestige” reflect the elegance and depth of Pinot Noir from select clay parcels.

Every bottle from Domaine Dominique et Janine Crochet is a testament to the family’s dedication to authenticity, terroir, and sustainable viticulture. Visitors are welcomed to discover the expressive, terroir-driven wines that capture the essence of Bué and the spirit of Sancerre.
