Domaine Pierre Desroches is a family-run estate nestled in Vergisson, at the heart of the Mâconnais in southern Burgundy. Founded in 2005 by Pierre Desroches, who represents the fifth generation of a winemaking family, the domaine has quickly earned a reputation for producing expressive, terroir-driven white wines. Together with his wife Stéphanie, Pierre continues a tradition rooted in respect for the land and a passion for authentic Burgundy.
The estate cultivates 12 hectares of vineyards, primarily in Solutré-Pouilly, on classic clay-limestone soils that define the region’s best sites. Chardonnay is the star grape, yielding wines with purity, minerality, and vibrant character. Since its founding, the domaine has practiced organic farming, and as of the 2022 vintage, all vineyards are certified organic. Vineyard management emphasizes soil health, biodiversity, and careful parcel selection, with each plot vinified separately to capture the unique expression of its terroir.
In the cellar, the philosophy is minimal intervention. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed, and native yeasts are used for fermentation. This approach preserves the integrity of the fruit and the distinctive qualities of each site. The range includes acclaimed Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, and Mâcon-Solutré, each reflecting the diversity of soils and microclimates in the Mâconnais.
Domaine Pierre Desroches stands out for its commitment to organic viticulture, family legacy, and the pure expression of Burgundy’s terroir. Visitors are welcomed by appointment to discover the estate’s wines and the Desroches family’s dedication to quality and sustainability.
