Domaine Berthelemot is a dynamic family estate based in Meursault, Burgundy, founded in 2006 by Brigitte Berthelemot. The domaine brings together the mature holdings of the Jean Garaudet and Yves Darviot estates and now covers 15 hectares across some of the Côte de Beaune’s most prestigious appellations, including Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne, Beaune, Pommard, and Santenay.
The estate’s philosophy centers on respect for the land and people, with a focus on sustainable and organic viticulture. Certified High Environmental Value (HVE) Level 3 since 2015, Domaine Berthelemot’s wines have been certified organic since the 2021 vintage. Vineyard work is guided by careful soil analysis, minimal use of phytosanitary treatments, and biodynamic practices, such as using natural preparations and working in harmony with lunar cycles, to promote healthy vines and vibrant soils.
In the cellar, winemaking is precise and respectful of each plot’s character. Grapes are hand-harvested and sorted, with vinification tailored to the specific needs of each cuvée. Whites are pressed gently and fermented in oak barrels, while reds undergo careful maceration and fermentation in temperature-controlled vats. Maturation on fine lees and judicious use of new oak ensure complexity and finesse.
Domaine Berthelemot produces a range of acclaimed wines known for their elegance, minerality, and expression of terroir. The estate’s commitment to environmental stewardship and quality has earned recognition from critics and wine lovers alike, making it a standout in modern Burgundy.
