Champagne Boude Baudin is a family estate rooted in the exceptional terroir of Cormoyeux, nestled in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. The story begins at the turn of the 20th century, when Alfred Baudin and Denis Pongnot cultivated the family vineyards. Their descendants, Gustave Baudin and Albert Pongnot, took over and began crafting and commercializing Champagne around 1960. Jean Pierre Baudin and Hélène Pongnot, later united through marriage as Hélène Boude, expanded the estate by acquiring new vineyards and modernizing facilities.
In 1993, Nathalie Baudin and José Boude merged the family holdings, giving birth to the Boude Baudin brand. Together, they upheld the family’s commitment to quality, tradition, and respect for the vine and the wine. Today, Benjamin, son of Nathalie and José, brings fresh energy and modernity to the estate, ensuring the continuation of this generational legacy.
The vineyards flourish on argilo calcareous soils, ideal for Champagne’s classic varieties: Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and the rare Petit Meslier. Each vine is tended with meticulous care, from the traditional “vallée de la Marne” pruning for Meunier to the “chablis” method for the other varieties. The estate is certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and VDC (Vignerons en Développement Durable), reflecting a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture.
Every step, from pruning to bottling, is performed by hand, ensuring the highest level of quality and authenticity. The Champagnes are aged on lees in the estate’s cellars and released only when ready to be enjoyed. Signature cuvées include the innovative Ice Touch, as well as vintage blends such as Vieilles Vignes and Saint Clément.
Champagne Boude Baudin also offers unique experiences for visitors, including guided tours and stays at the Chalet Cormoyeux, located amidst the vines and offering panoramic views of the valley.
