Champagne R. Faivre is a family estate deeply rooted in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, in the village of Belval-sous-Châtillon. Founded by Robert Faivre in 1953, the estate has been guided by three generations of passionate winemakers. Bernard, Robert’s son, took over in the 1970s, and today, David Faivre leads the domaine, continuing the family’s commitment to quality and terroir expression.
With 5.5 hectares of vineyards, Champagne R. Faivre is a true single-cru estate, focusing on the unique brown chalky clay soils over limestone that define Belval-sous-Châtillon. The vines are planted with 80% Meunier, 14% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Noir, and 1% Pinot Blanc, making Meunier the signature grape and the soul of the house. David Faivre is dedicated to revealing the full potential of the Belval terroir through meticulous vineyard work and a strong environmental commitment.
The estate’s team, including David, Jessica, Anthony, Kenny, and Noa, works closely together to ensure the highest standards in every stage of production. For the past decade, Champagne R. Faivre has prioritized sustainability, implementing green cover, soil working, natural fertilization, and water management, while eliminating herbicides and pesticides. The estate has been certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) and Viticulture Durable en Champagne (VDC) since 2016.
Vinification is carried out parcel by parcel, with each plot harvested, pressed, and vinified separately. This approach allows for precise blending and ensures that each cuvée fully expresses the unique character of Belval-sous-Châtillon. The annual production is limited to 25,000 bottles, reflecting the estate’s focus on quality and authenticity.
