Champagne J.M. Tissier is a family estate rooted in the village of Chavot-Courcourt, located on the southern slopes of Épernay, the heartland of Champagne. Founded in 1931 by Diogène Tissier, the estate has been passed down through generations, each contributing to its legacy of authenticity and refinement. Today, Jacques, Marie-Christine, and Anthony Tissier manage the vineyards and production, carrying forward the family’s passion for the land and the art of Champagne.
The estate cultivates vineyards not only in Chavot-Courcourt but also in the surrounding communes of Moussy, Pierry, Épernay, Cuis, Cramant, Damery, Dormans, and Sézannais. The vineyard is planted with a balanced mix of Champagne’s classic varieties: 40% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier, and 20% Pinot Noir. These grapes thrive on the estate’s carefully tended parcels, producing fruit of exceptional quality and character.
Sustainability is at the heart of Champagne J.M. Tissier’s philosophy. The estate has been certified Haute Valeur Environnementale and Viticulture Durable en Champagne since 2020, reflecting a long-standing commitment to environmentally friendly viticulture. This approach includes manual work, natural fertilization, and a significant reduction in chemical use, ensuring healthy vines and a thriving ecosystem.
Winemaking at J.M. Tissier is guided by tradition and precision. Bottling takes place on site, respecting the lunar calendar to optimize the aromas and structure of the wines. The estate’s range includes the Essentiel, Collection, and Echo de Chavot cuvées, each crafted to showcase the unique terroir and family savoir-faire. The estate has also received numerous awards and recognitions for the quality and sustainability of its Champagnes.
