Champagne Cottanceau-PRignitz is a family estate located in the heart of the Côte des Bar, on the communes of Proverville and Bar-sur-Aube. The domaine was established more than three generations ago, with Rosa Prignitz initiating the vineyard plantings in the late 1960s. Today, Mélanie and Arnaud Cottanceau lead the estate, continuing the family legacy with passion, innovation, and a deep respect for the land.

The estate cultivates 7.5 hectares of old vines, with the oldest parcels reaching 45 years of age. The vineyards are planted primarily with Pinot Noir, the signature grape of the region, alongside Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. These varieties, grown on the clay-limestone soils of the Côte des Bar, contribute to the complexity and typicity of the Champagnes.

Since 2019, Champagne Cottanceau-PRignitz has been double certified: Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) level 3 and Viticulture Durable en Champagne (VDC), reflecting a strong commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly viticulture. The estate’s approach blends traditional Champagne techniques with modern winemaking practices, ensuring the highest quality at every stage.

The estate produces about 20,000 bottles per year, each reflecting the passion and savoir faire of Mélanie and Arnaud Cottanceau. Champagne Cottanceau-PRignitz is also renowned for its hospitality, offering guided tours, tastings, and a charming gîte for visitors. The “Design by CP” workshop allows guests to customize their own bottles, creating unique, hand-painted keepsakes.

With a new pressoir and expanded cuverie since the 2023 harvest, the estate is now fully independent and ready to welcome wine lovers for unforgettable experiences in the heart of Champagne.
